Style Icon no.1, Donayale Luna

In the 1960′s Andy Warhol, long fascinated with the glamour of celebrity pulled out his camera and kept the film rolling.  The result a meditation of Warhols’ downtown friends silently moving before the camera.  Donayle Luna is one of his subjects, with fingers like pencils and fingernails filed like a pussycat she plays her hands over her face, her wide eyes rolls left and right up and down through her elegant claws.  This body of work is currently on view at New York’s MoMA and really worth seeing.  I saw it during fashion week where the young violinist Hahn Bin performed among other things, Silent night, bringing new meaning to Warhol’s work.  The show ends March 21st, so hurry up.
