Michelle Harper, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Tavi and yours truly all having some cheap fun!
A few years ago I went to see, “The story of the Supremes” at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. One of the main things I remember is that Diana Ross was quoted saying that wigs were a big part of the costume because its was so much more convenient to change styles and to not damage their hair. They had many many wigs. I’m all about the practical but it can also be fun, go ahead, be bold!
Above: The Supremes, and Bryan Boy sporting an afro this week. I’m sure i’ll see a lot more of it.
[...] its because she’s putting the fun back in fashion! Yes I woke up at 4am with Anna Della Russo on my mind. Don’t ask why, [...]

I love Tavi’s wig! This site has awesome anime-inspired wigs with the wildest colors and hairstyles:

Usually I stray from the anime-type stuff, but I think some of these could look cool and modern.
I love the ones in wild colors…violet, sky blue, grass green…
I agree with Zainab. Wigs take you to another place. I often wear one to escape on the weekends…
I adore wigs. Am not keen on weaves, though.
Wigs can be creative and fun – a bit like putting the colour back in Spring!
How are you, lovely Shala?
I just recently began wearing wigs to grow out my hair and it has been a wonderfull experience! I feel like such a diva every time I get a new one. Weaves are definitely harsh on the hair…
I don’t know wigs always look like wigs but weaves if done right can look like your own hair. but to each its own

Wigs also help you escape from you and create another being. In the play I’m doing right now, I play a Congolese prostitute in a brothel in the middle of the DRC jungle. My character, Josephine, dons her wig when she has to ‘entertain’ rebel soldiers and miners. It helps her step out of herself and become this fantastical creature for whom life is a party. It’s such a tough, painful role to play that I find myself needing the psychological crutch the wig provides.
