Plastics

This week I attended Standard Talks curated by Sunny Bates, a member of the Brain Trust of TED.  Her guest speakers were Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen from Google speaking about their new book, “The New Digital Age Reshaping the future of People, Nations and Business.  One thing from the talk sticks out for me.  Ms. Bates who has a daughter just graduating from college sought some advice from the chairman of google.  She referenced the scene from the 1960′s film The Graduate where Dustin Hoffman is advised to go into PLASTICS.  ”What is this generation’s, PLASTICS?”  she wanted to know.  Just like in the film where Dustin Hoffman looks dumbfounded after hearing the word PLASTICS, there was a long pause in the room when Mr.Schmidt said: HEALTHCARE…

Get a copy of THE NEW DIGITAL AGE to find out why Eric Schmidt thinks HEALTHCARE is this generation’s PLASTICS.

  1. This sounds exactly like the type of book I would read. Lucky you got to attend.

Looking amazing as always, aren’t you? I will be sure to check out the book. It’s sad that the USA can’t take inspiration from the British National Health Service…
