THE MORE THINGS YOU HAVE THE MORE THINGS YOU HAVE.
The more things you don’t have the more things you have. This statement came out of the mouth of a friend about six years ago, perpetuated by receiving a toaster from his daughter. His reasoning being that now that he had a new toaster he now had to buy bread to toast, he now needed to use more electricity, ect. The more things we have the more things we have to get. Which led to, the more things you don’t have the more things you don’t need. Which led him to think of “monkishness” the practice of self denial, going back to the more things you don’t have the more things you don’t need OR also meaning the more things you don’t have the more things you have. Confused yet?
