I agree with Roby. Speaking as a South African, as well as a Zimbabwean (please watch Mugabe and the White farmer documentary), and most of all as an African you just have to look at this second wave of colonization by China to understand the situation. Of course South Africa is not as “bound” to China as other poorer countries but at the end of the day, so long as China is saying jump, we will say how high. Watch “The Chinese are Coming” on BBC iplayer.

Because of their relationship with China! I absolutely love the colors on you!

yep! everyone’s right, its china. there’s much too much economic value to good relations with china, they bankroll too many government ventures, they hold a lot of the post-recession economic recovery of the country in their hands, cheap chinese goods to sell in the SA market, cheap labour for the Gov to explore, check out how SinoSteel is slowly owning large chunks of sandton (google it) real estate and how SinoHydro builds so many african roads and buildings…the chinese government has money to burn, SA is desperate to attract investors, favours are the lubricant that spins the world on its axis so of course they would piss off the chinese! political games :(

    Yep Tebogo is right!

When Daila Lama came to Australia the government was also under pressure. It is Terrible when international trade invades national policy…scary
